Waithe, who wrote and produced the romantic drama starring Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith, will be honored with the Creative Impact in Producing Award at Variety‘s ’10 Directors to Watch’ brunch on January 3. The event will be held during the Palm Springs Film Festival.
