ABC/Randy HolmesT.I. usually disagrees with Kanye West’s opinions. However, TIP says he supports Kanye’s idea that the 13th Amendment to the Constitution needs to be changed.
The amendment, which abolished slavery, reads: “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.”
Kanye believes that the section reading “Except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted,” has become a justification for mas incarceration. T.I. posted an Instagram message saying he’s backing West on this point.
