iStock/KMNPhotoWest Coast hip-hop pioneer Too $hort has reportedly become a father for the first time at age 53.
His girlfriend, named Sue, gave birth to a daughter named Yani Shaw in December, and Too $hort kept it a secret until now, according to TMZ.
Born Todd Anthony Shaw, the Oakland rapper is sharing his experience as a new dad in an upcoming documentary about fathers in show business raising daughters. Ray J will also be in the doc.
Too $hort has released 20 studio albums since his debut in 1983, and has recorded with a who’s who of hip- hop talent, including Tupac, The Notorious B.I.G., Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dogg.
