Report: R. Kelly dropped by Sony Music

Melissa Bender Following protests outside the company’s offices in both New York City and Los Angeles, Sony Music has dropped R. Kelly, Variety says it has learned.

A source tells Variety that RCA, the Sony label to which Kelly is signed, doesn’t plan to publicly announce the news, but the artist no longer appears on the RCA Records website.

Kelly’s last album for the label was a 2016 Christmas release, but he’s since released some singles and has tweeted that he had a new album coming.
