Q-Tip reveals he’s taking care of his mother who suffers from Alzheimer’s and dementia

Sony MusicQ-Tip is celebrating his mother’s birthday this weekend by dedicating his Beats 1 radio show to her.

The legendary MC revealed that his mother, whose birthday is Sunday, is suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia.

“The dedication is not only to my mother, but also to all those out there who suffer with dementia,” the former A Tribe Called Quest member said in an Instagram video.

“I take care of my mother, and being able to wake up with her every day and take care of her has been something that’s been eye-opening, and also has been inspirational,” he continued.
