Young Thug and Gunna briefly caught up with each other for the first time since being arrested in May. The two — who were taken into custody for violating Georgia’s RICO act — were finally able to chat during a virtual court hearing on Thursday. A clip of their exchange has been shared on social media.

“Hey Wunna, you good?” Thug asked, to which Gunna responded, “Yeah, I’m good. You good?” Thugger then appeared to poke fun at Gunna’s weight loss, teasing, “You lost a little bit about that now.” The conversation came to an end soon after, as court officials noted the rappers hadn’t turned off their mics after the hearing.

Young Thug, Gunna and other members of Thug’s Young Stoner Life group are accused of being a violent street gang responsible for murders, armed robbery and other violent crimes. Gunna is believed to have a command role in the group, which prosecutors say Thug co-founded in 2012. Both rappers have been denied bond multiple times, with Thug receiving another rejection Thursday.

Chris Brown says his meet and greets “set the tone” for how artists should treat their fans

Prince Williams/Wireimage

(Note Language) Chris Brown is taking pride in his intimate meet-and-greet sessions, as he believes they’ve changed artist-fan interactions for the better. Taking to his Instagram Story, he credited himself for moving artists to care more about their supporters.

“I’m happy that my meet and greets are starting to inspire artists to actually give a f*** about their fans,” Brown wrote. He acknowledged that he “didn’t invent the wheel or meet and greets” but boldly claimed he “damn sure set the tone.”

Chris has been on the road for his One of Them Ones tour, where he’s been making memorable moments with those who paid roughly $1,000 for his VIP packages. Viral photos have shown him hugging and posing in whatever way his fans choose.

“I have the coolest fans on the planet…I appreciate the f*** outta them,” Chris previously said of his pictures. “These are memories that will last with them forever. Unlike most of these lame-a** artists that won’t make eye contact with the people who made it possible to even have a career. I only exist because these fans saw something in me I never thought was possible… So Ima go all out for my fans!!!”

Jamie Foxx and his Day Shift co-star Dave Franco have come together for some music. Their song “Bud” — which pays homage to Foxx’s character, Bud Jablonski — dropped on Thursday in celebration of their Netflix film’s success. A video supporting the single has also been released.

“It’s here!!! Thanks to the fans,” Jamie wrote on Twitter. “#dayshift is so big we made a video for the theme song.” The visual captures the two as they vampire hunt, enjoy wild Jeep rides and flaunt their moves to the EDM-inspired beat. Foxx — who has had success as a singer — is seen displaying his rap skills this time around.

Day Shift premiered on August 12 and follows Foxx’s Bud, a vampire hunter who takes on a job as a pool cleaner to cover up his real gig and provide for his daughter. The film debuted at #1 and as of Foxx’s post was “still #1 on @netflix.”

Jamie’s last album, Hollywood: A Story of a Dozen Roses, came out in May 2015.

Styles P says he “wouldn't watch” Verzuz “if Swizz and Tim ain't involved”

Bennett Raglin/Getty Images for Essence

(NOTE LANGUAGEStyles P is a former Verzuz contender, but he’s willing to boycott the competition platform to support peers Timbaland and Swizz Beatz. The producers filed a $28 million lawsuit against Triller over alleged missing payments after the company’s Verzuz acquisition in 2021. But, Triller insists the two were paid $50 million, noting they’ll receive more when they fulfill their contractual obligations.

“It would be good if they – Triller, Swizz and Tim — could rock out and figure a way to fix this,” Styles told TMZ of the current litigation. “Hip-hop is always funny sh** in it. I think people should just stick to what they said they were going to from the beginning.”

In the event that all parties are unable to resolve the issue, Styles made it clear he would no longer support the Verzuz platform while urging hip-hop lovers to do the same.

“Hip-hop people shouldn’t f*** with it if Swizz and Tim ain’t involved. I sure wouldn’t,” he said. “I wouldn’t watch it at all.”

Styles appeared on the Verzuz platform alongside members of The LOX last year. His group competed against Dipset and was deemed the winner of the battle.

Pusha T is the latest artist to join Vevo's CTRL series

Arturo Holmes/Getty Images

(NOTE LANGUAGE) Pusha T may be “Dreamin of The Past,” but his recent appearance on Vevo’s CTRL series is equally worthy of attention.

The rapper teamed up with the platform to perform a live rendition of the Kanye West-produced album cut “Dreamin of The Past,” which captures him rapping the lyrics into an overhead mic.

“You hollerin’, ‘Top five,’ I only see top me,” Push spits in the black-and-white clip, enunciating every word. “Award shows the only way you b****** could rob me.”

He also blessed fans with a performance of “Brambleton,” switching the black-and-white lighting to red.

Push’s selection of tracks comes from his last effort, It’s Almost Dry, which dropped in April. Though he believes the project is the album of the year, he admits Kendrick Lamar‘s album Mr. Morales & the Big Steppers presents some great competition.

“I think that Kendrick does what he does lyrically. I think … man, it was impressive,” he said in an interview with HotNewHipHop.com. “I think it’s great competition. It’s a matter of what you want to hear. I feel like for what it is that I do and what I was going for, and like I said, this is Rap Album of the Year to me. It’s Almost Dry.”
