Chris Brown and Wizkid team up for “Call Me Every Day” music video

The video for Chris Brown and Wizkid‘s Afrobeats-inspired single has officially dropped.

In the cinematic visual directed by child., a woman sitting in her bathtub drifts off into a daydream, where the singers are seen vibing out in front of various breathtaking sceneries.

Wizkid sings his verse and, as usual, Chris displays his dancing skills alongside a group of dancers before the two meet up on a stage surrounded by bright lights and beautiful women. The woman in the tub is eventually brought back to reality when her partner announces that he’s arrived with the food.

“Call Me Every Day” dropped in June. It’s the latest collaboration between Wiz and Chris, who have been friends for more than a decade. The visual, Chris suggests in his Instagram Story, marks the return of “music video movies.”

John Legend releases “All She Wanna Do” music video featuring Saweetie

Republic Records

All John Legend wanted to do was surprise the dancers auditioning to be in his music video, so that’s just what he did. The visual for his single “All She Wanna Do” featuring Saweetie captures women showing their best dance moves in a green room adjacent to the orange one, where Legend is seen singing.

The women were under the assumption they were dancing as part of a casting call for an R&B video, but as shown in the visual, they were later surprised by Saweetie and John, who revealed they’d already made the final cut.

“The ‘All She Wanna Do’ video is a big dance party, the perfect way to visually portray the spirit of the song,” John told Complex.

“We just wanted to feature a lot of dancing women just having a good time,” he added in a BTS clip from the video shoot.

John described the moment he and Saweetie surprised the dancers as “magic” and praised Christian Breslauer for his “brilliant job” of “capturing their energy and excitement on camera.”

“This video feels so good and I’m so excited to share it with fans,” the singer told Complex.

“All She Wanna Do” is one of many songs that will appear on John’s upcoming double album, LEGEND. Aside from Saweetie, the 24-track project, due out September 9, includes appearances from Rick RossJIDMuni LongJazmine Sullivan and Jhene Aiko.

(NOTE LANGUAGE) Bobby Shmurda has a few songs with Rowdy Rebel in the vault, but clearance issues have gotten in the way of their releases. He provided an explanation while revealing that he and his fellow Brooklyn native have actively been working together on music.

“We got a bunch of collabs that got to get cleared,” Bobby told Apple Music 1’s Ebro Darden. “Hell yeah, tapes. Hell yeah, we still make music to this day.”

“Last time we made a song together, like, I think last month, like two, three weeks ago. We still make songs,” he continued. “We got like over eight, nine songs, we could get a mixtape out right now.”

Bobby and Rowdy have long worked together, releasing a few collabs, including Rowdy’s 2015 hit “Computers” and Bobby’s recent “Shmoney” single. The two were supposed to drop another song with an unnamed artist on Rowdy’s debut album, Rebel vs. Rowdy, but again, clearance issues halted its release.

“Something we had was supposed to get cleared with somebody, it didn’t get cleared, the whole situation,” Bobby explained. “The song didn’t get cleared because of the artist, and a whole bunch of b*******. He had a whole bunch of other s*** going on.”

He concluded, “That’s why I don’t like doing songs with people. Too much clearances, and then their labels be doing too much extra s***, I don’t got time for all that s***.”

Kodak Black donates 35,000 bottles of water to victims of extreme gang violence in Haiti

Kodak Black is lending a helping hand to Haitians affected by extreme gang violence in the country. Lawyer Bradford Cohen tells TMZ the rapper is sending 35,000 bottles of alkaline water to those cut off from food and water as a result of the nation’s crisis and has already spent $50,000 on shipping costs.

The money, Cohen explains, is specifically being used to ship the water from Florida to Haiti via cargo ships. The rapper will now keep in contact with government officials to ensure the bottles are delivered to their exact destinations.

According to the United Nations website, gang violence in Cité Soleil, Port-au-Prince, led to nearly 100 deaths and even more injuries over a five-day period last month. Many were forced to flee their homes and hide indoors for safety.

The wars have also resulted in fuel shortages, increased transportation costs, and exacerbated malnutrition for individuals who have been denied access to drinking water and food.

Cohen says Kodak is calling for an end to the fighting. The labels on the bottles sent to Haiti, he adds, read “LAST” as the rapper hopes this is the final time Haitians will ever have to go without water.

Kodak’s previous efforts to help the island include donations to food banks and orphanages to assist in getting Haitians health care.

'House of the Dragon' star Steve Toussaint responds after backlash from critics on his casting

HBO

In a new interview in Men’s Health, Steve Toussaint is addressing critics who have commented about his casting in the new House of the Dragon series.

Toussaint plays Lord Corlys Velaryon, the head of House Velaryon and the richest man in Westeros.

To the magazine, he shut down critics who have suggested his casting doesn’t match what is portrayed in author George R. R. Martin‘s Fire & Blood novel, from which House of the Dragon is adapted.

“So many people are basing their idea of the history of this country [England] on a few films and stuff that were made in the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s, which don’t bear any resemblance to the truth,” Toussaint said.

“Historically, people of my hue and your hue, we didn’t just turn up here in the ’70s or the ’60s…”

“There are street names that tell you there were people who looked like us in this country even then, but for some reason, it seems to be very hard for people to swallow,” Toussaint added.

“They are happy with a dragon flying. They’re happy with white hair and violet-colored eyes, but a rich Black guy? That’s beyond the pale.”

House of the Dragon debuted over the weekend and marked the largest series premiere in HBO history, with nearly 10 million viewers.

Despite the casting criticism that Toussaint faced, he said it’s been “great” to know that there are people excited about the show.

“What has been wonderful is for every toxic person that has somehow found their way into my timeline, there have been so many others who have been so supportive and been like, ‘Oh my God, I can’t wait, this is going to be great!'” he said.

“Even when we were doing certain scenes, there would be supporting artists who would come up and go, ‘It’s great to have this representation.'”
