“My voice is safe”: The Weeknd's ready to reschedule LA show he cut short

Don’t worry fans: The Weeknd’s golden voice is back in business.

The chart-topping singer cut his September 4 show in Los Angeles short after just 15 minutes and four songs because his voice, as he put it, “went out.” On Twitter, he said he was “devastated” but would make it up to fans soon. Now he says everything’s all good.

“Doctor says my voice is safe and with rest i’ll be solid and able to bring the show my TORONTO fans are waiting for,” the Canadian superstar wrote on Instagram, referring to his two hometown concerts later this month.

He added, “LA date is being worked out soon. thank you SO much for all the love and understanding that’s come my way. i love you all so much… XO.”

One of Weeknd’s Toronto shows had to be rescheduled, as well: It was called off minutes before the arena’s doors opened when one of Canada’s main mobile providers, Rogers, crashed and the venue couldn’t process tickets, food and beverage or merch sales.

Variety reports that the L.A. show that was cut short was also being filmed for an episode of the singer’s upcoming HBO series, The Idol, which is why the show’s star, Lily-Rose Depp, appeared onstage in a white gown and delivered her lines in character.

After Super Bowl Emmy win, Eminem wants to play in the NFL

Eminem became an Emmy winner Saturday night for starring in the NFL’s Super Bowl halftime show — and he may want a spot on the field next.

The halftime show, which also featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Centwon three awards at the 2022 Creative Arts Emmy Awards in Los Angeles: Outstanding Variety Special, Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special and Outstanding Music Direction.

Now Slim Shady is one award away from attaining the coveted EGOT status of winning entertainment’s four most prestigious honors.

The “Not Afraid” rapper needs a Tony Award to join the elite EGOT circle. He’s won 15 Grammys and in 2003 won an Academy Award in the Best Original Song category for “Lose Yourself” from the film 8 Mile.

After becoming one of the most successful recording artists of the past three decades, Marshall Mathers would love to make his fantasy of playing in the NFL come true. Having grown up in Detroit, he’s a fan of the Detroit Lions and recently visited the Lions’ preseason training camp. In a clip from HBO’s Hard Knocks show, Eminem met several players who told him they were fans of his music.

“We’ve got a good team this year, let’s go,” Mathers told the players.

When asked if he would come out to any games this year, Eminem replied, “I’ll lace up whenever. Like I’ll go to every game. I’ll stand on the sideline and if you guys need to put me in, put me in. Any position I’m good. Actually any position, I’m great.”

Rihanna may have earned herself legendary status with a few hospitality workers in New York City. How? She rolled up her sleeves to help restaurant employees clean up after closing.

Page Six reports Rihanna hit up hotspot Caviar Russe with her gal pals last week and asked the restaurant to stay open past its 10 p.m. closing time. Eye witnesses tell the outlet the “Umbrella” singer and her six friends dined on sashimi bites, champagne and caviar until 2 a.m.

As thanks, Rihanna was “seen helping the waitstaff clean up and push the bar stools back into place since she stayed so late,” a source claims.

The restaurant, which advertises itself as “America’s largest caviar importer and distributor” on its socials, has not addressed Rihanna’s good deed. For the record, Rihanna hasn’t spoken about it either.
