“Bring It On”: Gabrielle Union address rumors of a potential sequel
Bring on a Bring It On sequel.
It’s been 22 years since the 2000 cheerleading comedy came on the scene and fans still can’t get enough of it. And apparently, neither can Gabrielle Union, who appeared in the classic pop culture film as Isis, the captain of the East Compton Clovers cheerleading team.
Addressing the rumors of a potential sequel in the works, the actress told Entertainment Tonight, “I’ve heard many takes over the years, but I’m hearing some really great takes from some big-name writers that are very surprising.”
“Bring it On, baby, the gift the keeps on giving,” she added.
Union also dished on a potential storyline where her character is now a mother with a daughter following in her footsteps.
“Imagine if her daughter was, ya know, a high-stepper from Jackson State, Hawthorne State or Hampton. There’s so many forms of cheerleading that we don’t get to celebrate,” Union said. “The possibilities are endless.”

Kel Mitchell teases 'Good Burger' sequel: “We're open 24 hours”
Twenty-five years after the original, a Good Burger sequel may finally be on the way.
While promoting his book Prank Day, Kel Mitchell, who starred in the ’90s Nickelodeon film alongside Kenan Thompson, teased the idea of a potential sequel to the comedy classic.
“Oh, what can I tell you? Let’s just say deliveries are still going out for Good Burger,” the Emmy-nominated actor tells ABC Audio. “You know, we’re open 24 hours. I’ll just say that. Okay. Every day. Good burger is still open.”
The comments come about a month after Kenan Thompson, who also starred in the film, told Jimmy Fallon he would like to do a sequel to the movie.
“We are working harder on it than ever, so it’s about meeting the numbers, letting them numbers match up. ‘Cause I need them numbers,” the Saturday Night Live star said.
While the logistics for a Good Burger sequel are being worked out, Kel is keeping busy with many endeavors including his latest book, Prank Day, a comedy-fantasy illustrated novel for kids and tweens.
“Prank Day is about a kid named Chase, that on April 1st, he does a bunch of pranks, but then on April 2nd, all the pranks come true,” Kel explains. “So he has to figure out why there are flying spiders flying through the sky, why there are refrigerators running through his neighborhood, and clowns coming out of the toilet. He has to figure it out. So, yeah, it’s just an awesome, awesome fun book.”
So, what’s the craziest prank Kel’s ever pulled? He used Krazy Glue to glue a friend to their chair.
“When the bell rang he… couldn’t get up,” Kel laughs, before warning, “I got in trouble for that one. So, don’t do that.”

Usher releasing 25th anniversary edition of breakthrough album 'My Way'
It’s hard to believe it’s been a quarter century since Usher released his sophomore 1997 album My Way, which made him a star. Now, he’s marking that milestone with a special 25th anniversary edition of the release.
The special edition features the original album, plus three “reimagined” versions of the album’s three monster hits: “My Way,” “Nice & Slow” and “You Make Me Wanna.” Instrumental versions of those tracks round out the package. The reimagined versions of those tracks, produced by Ryan James Carr, were the inspiration for Usher’s now-iconic Tiny Desk performance.
The new version will be released on September 16, 25 years to the day of the original album’s release. Since then, the original album has been certified for sales of seven million copies.
The 25th anniversary edition is now available to pre-save, and you can also pre-order it pressed on two “silver cloudy” vinyl LPs; those will be available in early 2023.
Also dropping September 16: a mini-documentary featuring a new interview with Usher talking about the legacy of the album and the reimagined tracks, plus interviews with Jermaine Dupri and Ryan James Carr, and archival footage of Usher back in 1997. That will premiere on Usher’s YouTube channel; a trailer is available now.

US Open breakout star Frances Tiafoe looks to future
(NEW YORK) — While he didn’t make it to this year’s U.S. Open championship, Frances Tiafoe’s tennis journey still looks very bright.
The 24-year-old American was a breakout star of this year’s tournament after he beat tennis legend Rafael Nadal to advance to the quarterfinals.
Tiafoe spoke in an interview with ABC News on Good Morning America Monday about his journey to one of tennis’ biggest stages.
While he said he felt “a ton of different emotions” through his run, he hailed the Grand Slam as “the best two weeks of my life.”
“Probably the best thing [was] seeing the first lady Michelle Obama after the match,” he said of his semifinal match with Carlos Alcaraz. “I was on the one changeover and I looked and she looked at me — and then when they announced her and seeing the crowd erupt, that was pretty impactful.”
He was the first Black American man to reach the semifinals of the U.S. Open since 1972. The last player to do so was Arthur Ashe, the namesake of the stadium where Tiafoe and Alcaraz battled.
“It’s truly a blessing. All the work that my parents did over the years and having them see that and be a part of that is crazy. And to be in the same sentence as Arthur Ashe in anything is unbelievable and something no one can ever take from me. So I’m going to remember that forever,” Tiafoe explained.
Tiafoe said he hopes to continue to move the sport forward for others as a role model.
“My whole life I’ve wanted to pave a way so people like me can also play the game of tennis and just be great leaders as well as great individuals,” he said.
Tiafoe lost in five sets against Alcaraz; their match lasted four hours and 19 minutes. The 19-year-old Spanish phenom advanced to the final and won the tournament.
“I feel I let you guys down,” Tiafoe said after the match, addressing the crowd during an on-court interview. “This one hurts. This one really, really hurts — I’m going to be back — and I will win this thing one day.”
Tiafoe credited picking up a racquet to his father, who was the head of maintenance at a tennis center in Maryland.
Tiafoe, whose parents immigrated from Sierra Leone amid war in the 1990s, grew up outside of Washington, D.C., with his brother, Franklin.
“My parents are everything,” Tiafoe told ABC News. “We wouldn’t be doing this interview, all achievements, I wouldn’t have them without them. I’m just so thankful for them, and them instilling in me hard work and understanding — being humble and grateful for everything that comes your way. They shaped me to the person I am today.”
In 2020, Tiafoe won the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award, the ATP’s award for off-court impact.
Tiafoe added that being an inspiration is “what it’s all about.”
“We all have a certain gift and to use that gift to inspire so many people to do great things in life,” he said.
As for the fate of the sport, Tiafoe said he thinks “American tennis is in a great place.”
“You’ll see some Grand Slam champions soon,” he said, mentioning Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula, who he said are “playing great tennis.”
“I’m super excited to be in that conversation,” Tiafoe said.

Ray J calls out Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner over sex tape claims, shares alleged contracts and texts
Ray J is aiming to set the record straight when it comes to his 2007 sex tape with Kim Kardashian.
In multiple videos, including a 44-minute video shared over the weekend, the singer lodged claims that Kim, along with Kris Jenner, have lied about their involvement in the release of the tape.
Ray J claims that there were three sex tapes in total, with the labels “Intro,” “Cabo,” and “Santa Barbara,” and said that Kris picked the tape in which Kim looked the best.
He also showed followers the alleged original contract for the deal with Vivid Entertainment, the adult entertainment company that released the tape, and claims Kim filled out the section containing the names of the three tapes. He also shared snapshots of handwritten notes allegedly from Kim to compare the handwriting to the contract, claiming that it was the same.
The “One Wish” singer also shared alleged text messages between himself and Kim’s ex, Kanye West, in which they discuss the tape.
The lengthy video was prompted by Kris’ recent appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden where, while hooked up to a polygraph test, the momager was asked if she assisted in the release of the sex tape.
When the crowd gasped at the question, Kris answered, “It’s OK. No, no.” After the man administering the test confirmed her answer was truthful, Kris added, “We cleared that up.”

Morris Day remembers Prince for his humor: “A really fun and funny dude to be around”
It’s been six years since Prince passed away, but his high school friend Morris Day will always remember their many joyful moments together.
“He was an avant-garde, introverted person. But once you got past that surface, he was a really fun and funny dude to be around,” the lead singer of The Time tells Billboard.
Prince recruited Day to front The Time, and they made the Minneapolis sound famous around the world. With their hits “Cool,” “777-9311,” “Jungle Love,” “Ice Cream Castles,” “The Bird” and “Jerk Out,” The Time often toured with Prince. They appeared with the Oscar and Grammy winner in Graffiti Bridge and the classic Purple Rain.
“We had a lot of good times as we jammed nonstop. Sometimes I’d be in the grocery store on what I thought would be a night off. And he’d run into me there, saying he wanted to go in and cut a record,” Morris fondly recalls. “He loved music so much. I’ve never met anybody who cared about the craft as much as he did.”
Now, after more than 40 years as a recording artist, Morris will release what he calls his final solo album in November.
The 64-year-old singer plans to drop his fifth solo album, titled Last Call, on November 11. Snoop Dogg, Big Daddy Kane and Flo Rida are among the stars featured on the project.
Day regrets that Prince will not be able to hear his new music.
“I think he’d be happy with some of the songs, and proud to know that I’m still in the game,” Morris says. “That’s the hardest part, you know. Him not being around, and wondering what he, as [a] mega-talented musician and songwriter, would think about projects I’m working on.”
