Report: Drake sues Hebrew Hustle music company for illegal use of his name and image
Republic RecordsAfter being sued by the Hebrew Hustle music company over a sample in 2013, Drake is reportedly firing back with his own lawsuit for alleged illegal use of his name and image.
The production, management and publishing company originally sued Drizzy for using a sample without permission in the song “Pound Cake/Paris Morton Music 2,” featuring JAY Z, on Drake’s his 2013 album, Nothing Was the Same, according to TMZ. The charges were denied in court last year, and now Drake is suing the company for illegal use of his name and image. His attorneys also say they wouldn’t allow Hebrew Hustle to use Drake’s image. The reason seems to be the company’s name.
In court documents, the “In My Feelings” legal team wrote, “The very name of Hebrew Hustle is offensive, as it perpetuates stereotypes regarding persons of Jewish heritage, such as [Drake].”
The three-time Grammy winner is demanding damages for the “mental distress” and “humiliation” of being connected to the company.

Redskins claim rights to Reuben Foster despite domestic violence charge
Michael Zagaris/San Francisco 49ers/Getty Images(WASHINGTON) — The Washington Redskins claimed the rights to linebacker Reuben Foster two days after the San Francisco 49ers dropped him from their roster over alleged domestic violence against his girlfriend last weekend.
“The Redskins fully understand the severity of the recent allegations made against Reuben. If true, you can be sure these allegations are nothing our organization would ever condone,” Doug Williams, senior vice president of player personnel, said in a statement posted to Twitter.
Foster was arrested on Saturday, Nov. 24 at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Tampa, Florida, after his girlfriend called 911. He was charged with first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence, according to a criminal report from the Tampa Police Department.
Foster’s girlfriend told police that following a verbal altercation, he slapped her phone out of her hand, pushed her in the chest and then slapped her on the left side of her face, according to the police report. It also noted that there was a 1-inch scratch on her left collarbone.
“Let me be clear, Reuben will have to go through numerous steps including the full legal process, an investigation and potential discipline from the NFL, as well as meetings with counselors associated with the team before he will ever have the opportunity to wear the burgundy and gold as a player,” Williams said in the statement.
During a press conference on Wednesday, Redskins Coach Jay Gruden defended the team’s decision to claim Foster before an investigation wrapped up, saying, “We probably could have done that, but we saw an opportunity to claim him and we chose to do that as an organization.”
“There’s no guarantee he is ever going to play here,” he added. “He’s got a lot of work to do personally, with the team, with the NFL, with himself before he even thinks about playing football again.”
Foster has been placed on the NFL’s Reserve/Commissioner Exempt List for the duration of the NFL’s investigation into his arrest.
A player who is on the list is not allowed to practice or attend games, “but with the club’s permission, he may be present at the club’s facility on a reasonable basis for meetings, individual workouts, therapy and rehabilitation and other permitted non-football activities,” according to the 2016 personal conduct policy for NFL players, published on the NFL’s website.
Williams said in his statement that the team chose to claim the rights to Foster “after candid conversations with a number of his ex-Alabama teammates and current Redskins players who were overwhelmingly supportive of us taking this chance.”
A first-round pick for the 49ers in 2017, Foster has faced multiple run-ins with the law over the past year. In January, he was charged in Alabama for second-degree marijuana possession — a charge that was later dismissed, ESPN reported.
In April, he was charged again with felonies for domestic violence, criminal threats and weapons possession, accused of abusing his girlfriend, ESPN reported. His girlfriend later recanted the allegations and a judge ruled there was no probable cause on the first two charges, while the weapons charge was downgraded to a misdemeanor. Foster pleaded no contest to that in June, ESPN reported.
Though it’s unclear if the incidents earlier in 2018 involved the same woman, the criminal report from the Tampa Police Department said that Foster had been in an on-and-off relationship with his girlfriend for three years and that they had lived together in the past.

Soccer team fakes the death of a former player; dodges game
iStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — Representatives for an Irish soccer team have apologized after faking the death of one of its former players.
Public broadcaster RTE reported that a representative of the team, Ballybrack FC, falsely told the Leinster Senior Football League that Fernando LaFuente — who was until recently on the squad — had perished in a “traffic accident” last week.
The league subsequently postponed Ballybrack’s game on Saturday — and even held a moment of silence for LaFuente, who, it should be said, is very much alive.
LaFuente, who now works for a software company, told RTE, “I was home yesterday after my work finished. I was playing some video games. … [My colleagues] started sending me all these news articles and mass media. And that’s how I found out I was dead.”
Ballybrack apologized on Facebook, calling the announcement, “a gross error of judgement…made by a person who has been experiencing severe personal difficulties unbeknownst to any other members of the club.”
The team added, “the person in question has been relieved of all footballing duties.”

Legend opened with “That’s What Christmas Means to Me,” a cover of the Stevie Wonder song, which is one of the tracks from Legend’s A Legendary Christmas album. He returned later to perform the classic, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”
Pentatonix, performed a capella versions of “It’s Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas” and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” from their holiday album, Christmas Is Here!

Marsha Ambrosius says 2015 Floetry reunion failed due to “toxic situation”
Dez BillupsMarsha Ambrosius is currently enjoying her solo career, but she’s also looking back at her career as a member of Floetry, and explaining why their 2015 reunion failed.
Ambrosius formed Floetry in London in 1999 with Natalie Stewart. Marsha was “The Songstress,” and Natalie was “The Floacist.” Their rare combination of Marsha’s classical vocal training and Natalie’s hip-hop rhymes made them a unique duo.
Floetry released two studio albums and one live album and received five Grammy nominations, including Best Contemporary R&B Album for their 2002 debut album, Floetic. The duo broke up in 2006, reunited for a tour in 2015, but broke up again at the end of the tour in 2016.
“I’m thinking, ‘Gonna do it for the people. This is about the music,’” Marsha tells ABC Radio about why she agreed to a reunion. “I felt good with that, until things happened during the tour that were triggers and reminders of why I couldn’t be there and present in that very toxic situation.”
The 41-year-old singer says she initially thought things had changed between her and Natalie after Natalie sent her an apology about their 2006 breakup.
“I wanted to bring up the apology email, to only be told that [she] didn’t write it,” Ambrosius remembers. “It was forced and someone told [her] to do it.”
On top of that, Marsha says she discovered that Stewart was dishing dirt on her to a roadie, who Marsha eventually married.
“I disclosed some very harsh truths about me to him,” she recalls. “[Only] for him to tell me, ‘I already know. [Natalie] kinda already told me your dirt.’”
Ambrosius and Dez Billups are now married and have a daughter Nyla, whose name is also the title of Marsha’s new album.

Jeff Brohm to stay at Purdue, turns down Louisville head coaching job
Photo by Eric Lars Bakke / ESPN Images(NEW YORK) — Purdue head football coach Jeff Brohm isn’t leaving West Lafayette, Indiana anytime soon, despite a chance to take the same job at his alma mater, Louisville.
Brohm grew up in Louisville and played quarterback for the Cardinals. But after meeting with Louisville athletic director Vince Tyra on Tuesday, Brohm released a statement saying he would remain at Purdue.
“Going home was very appealing and meaningful to me,” he admitted. But, he said, “the timing was not ideal.”
Louisville went 2-10 this season, prompting the firing of their head coach Bobby Petrino. Purdue has gone 13-12 in two seasons under Brohm.
“After intense and thorough discussion, I believe it is important to finish the building process we have begun and honor the commitment I made to our football program, players, and recruits,” Brohm added in his statement. “…I believe that remaining at Purdue is the right thing to do, and I am excited for the challenges ahead.”

Cleveland Cavaliers trade Kyle Korver to Utah Jazz
taka4332/iStock/Thinkstock(CLEVELAND) — The Cleveland Cavaliers have traded veteran sharpshooter Kyle Korver to the Utah Jazz, ESPN reports, in what may be the beginning of a rebuild.
Cleveland is expected to receive two second-round draft picks and guard Alec Burks in return for Korver.
After losing LeBron James in free agency, the Cavaliers were not expected to be a playoff contender, but their early season struggles have prompted the front office to seek assets in exchange for some of their more veteran players. The team said earlier this month that it had mutually agreed with guard J.R. Smith to have him leave the team as it looked to deal him away.
Utah, meanwhile, is just 9-12, and has struggled to shoot from three-point range this season. Korver, 37, has been sought after for his consistency in that area.
