Report: Dwight Howard may need surgery for gluteal injury

Scott Clarke / ESPN Images(NEW YORK) — Dwight Howard may need to go under the knife to alleviate pain from a gluteal injury he suffered earlier this month.

League sources tell ESPN the Washington Wizards center will likely need a surgical procedure that would sideline him for a considerable portion of the regular season.

Howard got a recommendation from a nerve specialist on Thursday, ESPN reports, but may seek a second opinion before deciding whether or not to have surgery.

Howard, 32, injured his piriformis muscle during a game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Nov. 18. So far this season, the injury has caused him to miss 12 games.

However, Houston insists that at heart, the two films are very different, adding that his will take you on a roller-coaster ride to a shocking ending.

“This movie takes you on a journey and at the end of it, you’re going to be like, ‘Wow, ah, wow!'” he says. “That’s all I can say. I don’t want to give too much away, but this movie will blow your mind at the end, and you gonna be like, ‘I gotta watch that again!'”

Texas Tech hires Utah State's Matt Wells as next head football coach

Photo by Loren Orr/Getty Images(COLLEGE STATION, Texas) — Just one day after he was named Mountain West coach of the year for his work at Utah State, Matt Wells has decided to leave the school to take the head football coaching job at Texas Tech.

Wells went 44-34 in six seasons at Utah State, including an impressive 10-2 campaign this year. The award was the second time Wells won that conference’s coach of the year award.

Texas Tech announced the decision on Twitter Thursday night. ESPN reports Wells is expected to bring his offensive coordinator David Yost, and his defensive coordinator Keith Patterson, with him to Texas Tech.

Wells replaces Kliff Kingsbury, who was fired on Sunday at the end of a disappointing 5-7 season at Texas Tech.

LL Cool J sues the now-defunct Rock the Bells Festival for trademark infringement

ABC/Randy HolmesLL Cool J is suing a festival with the same name as his 1985 hit “Rock the Bells” —  even though the event has not been held since 2013.

LL is accusing the now-defunct Rock the Bells music festival of trademark infringement, cyber piracy and more for maintaining a website and several social media accounts, according to Billboard.

The Guerilla Division company has held the “Rock the Bells” trademark for live events and merchandise for several years. Last year, LL successfully petitioned that the trademark be canceled, and filed his own trademark registration.  But now the NCIS: LA star claims that the company is continuing to use the trademark illegally.

The 50-year-old rap icon is seeking profits from Guerilla Division’s use of the trademark, as well as punitive damages and his legal fees.

DJ Khaled and Floyd Mayweather fined for failing to disclose they were paid to promote cryptocurrency companies

Image Group LA/ABCDJ Khaled and Floyd Mayweather have been fined by the Securities and Exchange Commission for failing to disclose that they were paid to promote investments in companies involved in cryptocurrency.

Mayweather agreed to pay his $300,000 profit, plus a $300,000 penalty. Khaled agree to pay his $50,000 profit, plus a $100,000 penalty.  The boxing champ was ordered not to promote any securities, digital or otherwise, for three years, and the music producer has a similar ban for two years.

The SEC says Mayweather did not reveal he was paid to promote three different companies, including Centra Tech Inc. which also paid Khaled for promotion. Both men used social media to promote investments in Initial Coin Offerings, known as ICOs.

In April 2018, the Commission charged the founders of Centra with operating a fraudulent company that raised more than $32 million from thousands of investors last year.

“These cases highlight the importance of full disclosure to investors,” says SEC Enforcement Division Co-Director Stephanie Avakian. “With no disclosure about the payments, Mayweather and Khaled’s ICO promotions may have appeared to be unbiased, rather than paid endorsements.”

“Investors should be skeptical of investment advice posted to social media platforms, and should not make decisions based on celebrity endorsements,” added Enforcement Division Co-Director Steven Peikin.
