Keri Lewis hits backs at Toni Braxton's alimony claims against him

Jill Ann Spaulding/FilmMagicAfter Toni Braxton revealed on Jada Pinkett Smith‘s Red Table Talk that she resented having to pay alimony to ex-husband Keri Lewis after their divorce, Lewis is hitting back, saying Braxton needs to put some “respeck” on his name.

In an lengthy statement posted on Instagram, Lewis clarified the former couple’s alimony arrangement, saying he was paid per the prenuptial agreement that Toni had him sign.

“Toni’s attorney’s suggested she have a prenuptial agreement put in place prior to our wedding, and they drafted one as they saw fit,” he wrote.

“Because of my love for her and being optimistic of marriage lasting forever, I didn’t feel the need to have an attorney, as I wasn’t going to contest anything in the prenup,” he continued. “Fast-forward to 2012 after separating…Toni mentioned to me that the payments set in the prenup would start being deposited into my account. I received alimony for around three years between 2012 and 2014.”

After Keri offered some backstory on his alimony payments, the Mint Condition singer went on to express his frustration with Braxton’s comments.

“Intentionally or not, Toni’s comments have left people with the feeling that we had some sort of legal battle that resulted in her having to pay alimony,” he wrote. “With all due respect, I don’t see that situation in the same light.”

He then pointed out that Braxton crossed the line when she referred to him in a derogatory way.

“While I often did not agree with the creative liberties that were taken in representing our relationship,” he said, “we are raising two sons and it can never be to the degree of her referencing me as a b****. That’s a problem.”

Braxton has yet to publicly respond to Keri’s comments.

Chloe X Halle are very excited about the return of “grown-ish”

Robin Harper/Parkwood/PictureGroupAfter beginning as recurring characters on grown-ishChloe X Halle have been elevated to regulars on the sitcom, and they’re very excited about season two, premiering in January.

The Beyoncé proteges portray twin track stars Jazlyn and Shylar in the black-ish spinoff, which stars Yara Shahidi.

Chloe, 20, and her sister Halle, 18, began shooting the new season after wrapping up the Beyoncé/JAY Z On The Run II tour last month. They felt grown-ish was destined for success when they began shooting season one.

“You could just feel the love and the positive energy whenever we would film,” Chloe tells ABC Radio. “You just knew it was going to be something pretty special and when it premiered, and seeing how the world reacted to it, that was just confirmation.”

“We love Kenya Barris,” she continues. “We’re so grateful that he allowed us to be on that show and play Jazlyn and Skylar. They’re like our alter egos. They’re so sassy, and we just love our cast mates.

Chloe X Halle released their debut album, The Kids Are Alright, in April. They’ve received numerous award nominations, including Best Album at the Soul Train Awards, Best Group at the BET Awards, and Outstanding New Artist at the NAACP Image Awards. They’re also being called positive role models.  Chloe says they’re humbled by the praise.

“That still stuns me because my sister and I are just two regular girls from Atlanta who love music and entertaining,” she says. “To even be put up on that pedestal saying we’re role models is truly inspiring to me. It makes me want to do better.”

You can see Chloe X Halle in season 2 of grown-ish, premiering January 2 on Freeform.

Chicago Bulls fire Fred Hoiberg, name Jim Boylen head coach

Phil Ellsworth/ESPN Images(NEW YORK) — The Chicago Bulls have fired head coach Fred Hoiberg after a 5-19 start to the season.

Hoiberg coached the team starting in 2015, leading them to a playoff appearance in 2016.

Bulls vice president of basketball operations John Paxson thanked Hoiberg for his time with the team, and insisted the move was not about the team’s poor start to the season.

“At media day, [General Manager Gar Forman] and I spoke about how we weren’t going to evaluate things based on wins and losses,” he told reporters. “This decision was not based on our record.”

The Bulls have started the season missing some key players, including starting point guard Kris Dunn and small forward Lauri Markannen who only made his season debut on Dec. 1. Paxson also told reporters the injured players were not an excuse.

“What we’re lacking is kind of an energy and spirit about our team and we need to get that back,” he said. “It’s not as simple as saying we would’ve gotten that with healthy players, with Lauri coming back, Kris Dunn coming back, Bobby [Portis] coming back. It wasn’t going to be that simple.”

Assistant coach Jim Boylen has been tapped to replace Hoiberg as head coach on a long term basis, and not just as an interim coach.

“I think it sends a message to the team that they have faith in me,” he told reporters. “We’re going to try to build this thing from where Fred had it.”

Boylen has served with an assistant for several NBA teams, including the Indiana Pacers and the San Antonio Spurs. His only prior head coaching experience was for four seasons at the University of Utah.

Boylen will most likely want to start with improving the team’s offense. The Bulls are 28th in points per game with 103.4.
