Cardi B shares first photo of daughter Kulture, hours after announcing split with husband Offset

ABC/Randy HolmesHours after announcing her break-up with husband, Migos rapper Offset, Cardi B has shared the first full-face photo of their baby Kulture — and she’s a cutie!

An Instagram photo with over five million likes, simply captioned, “My Heart,” shows the nearly four-month-old looking away from the camera while in a car seat wearing a bib with her name on it.

Early Wednesday morning, the “I Like It” rapper shared a video on Instagram announcing she and Offset were calling it quits after tying the knot a little over a year ago.

“So everybody been bugging me and everything and you know, I’ve been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute now,” said Cardi, 26, in the clip, adding that the two were “still really good friends” and “really good business partners.”

“I guess we grew out of love, but we’re not together anymore,” she went on to explain.

Kulture was born July 10, two weeks after Cardi and Offset announced they were secretly married in September of 2017.

Ella Mai reveals her lifelong dream: “I want to win a Grammy”

Jonathan MannionThe Grammy nominations will be announced Friday, and Ella Mai is expected to be among the nominees. If her name is called, it could be the start of what’s been a lifelong dream for the British star.

“I remember when I was little that was like the main thing I wanted to do: ‘I want to win a Grammy,’” the singer tells ABC Radio.

While in recent years, there have been protests about black artists not being acknowledged at the Grammys, Mai feels they’re finally receiving the honors they deserve.

“Now we’re getting the recognition, and people who deserve it are getting the recognition and get the award and will get to perform there, and use their platform on the Grammys, which is a big deal,” she continues.

After growing up in London, the “Boo’d Up” singer moved to New York City where she attended high school. She moved back to London, and then after signing a recording contract in 2015, now she lives in Los Angeles.

The 24-year-old singer says L.A. is quite different from New York and London.

“It was definitely a big adjustment ’cause New York and London are pretty similar in the fact that they are like ‘city’ cities, in, like, you take the subway,” she says.

“When I moved to New York, even though it was an adjustment, it wasn’t as big of an adjustment as when I moved to L.A.,” Mai continues. “Like being in a car 24/7. The weather…like, it’s always sunny. A culture shock ‘cause it’s completely different.”

However, we’re sure Mai will be happy to be in L.A. on February 10 — that’s when and where the 61st Annual Grammys will be held.

Childish Gambino is “British GQ”'s Best Dressed Man of 2018

ABC/Randy HolmesChildish Gambino, aka Donald Glover, is British GQ‘s Best Dressed Man of 2018.

The magazine describes the actor/singer as a “new-wave renaissance man” – and says, “His style is superbly ‘wavey’ too, providing all the Seventies-inspired vibes a modern man needs in his wardrobe right now.”

The list of the 50 Best Dressed Men of 2018 also features Post Malone, John Legend,  Lil Pump, Travis Scott, Offset of Migos and A$AP Rocky.

Here’s a look at what the mag said about some of these sharp-dressed men:

Post Malone: The mag says he’s “the only man on earth who can pull off face tattoos, braids, a Breton shirt at the same time.” A stylist tells the mag, “Fashion-wise, he’s a designer’s dream. Confident in bold colors and patterns, it’s all about minimum effort for maximum effect.”

John Legend: The mag praises him for his “impeccable” dress sense, with GQ‘s deputy editor raving, “It’s not so much how Legend does it as why: he clearly loves clothes and therefore respects those who share that love.”

Travis Scott: The Houston rapper is praised for his “penchant for oversized plaid shirts, cargo pants, diamond-studded grilles and even the occasional overall. It’s hard to deny he’s hip hop’s most influential streetwear force right now.”

Offset: The 26-year-old rapper was selected as the best-dressed member of Migos, because “he can wear suits and sports gear like no other.”

A$AP Rocky: The publication admires how he has made “the transition from maximalist to minimalist…. we’re really digging his take on pared-down dressing, such as the black Berluti suit and shirt with brilliantly bulbous Dior Homme sneakers he wore to Rihanna’s Diamond Ball in September.”

USA Gymnastics files for bankruptcy protection as fallout from Larry Nassar sex abuse scandal continues

sportpoint/iStock(NEW YORK) — Reeling from lawsuits over the serial sexual abuse perpetrated on athletes by former Olympic team doctor Larry Nassar, USA Gymnastics filed for bankruptcy protection on Wednesday.

The organization filed for Chapter 11 protection from creditors in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Indianapolis, Indiana, according to court records.

“The filing enables us to expedite an equitable resolution of the claims made by the survivors of sexual abuse perpetrated by Larry Nassar,” USA Gymnastics said in a statement released Wednesday.

The USAG officials emphasized that claims made against the organization by Nassar’s victims are covered by insurance and will not be affected by the bankruptcy action.

“We owe it to the survivors to resolve, fully and finally, claims based on the horrific acts of the past and, through this process, seek to expedite resolution and help them move forward,” said Kathryn Carson, the recently-elected chair of the USAG’s board of directors. “Our sport is safer and stronger thanks to the bravery of these women. The Chapter 11 filing and the expedited resolution of these claims are critical first steps in rebuilding the community’s trust.”

The move comes as the organization continues to search for a new chief executive officer.

“We hope to have this position filled in early 2019,” the USAG statement says. “We’re looking for someone with experience and leadership skills to build a leadership team that will help all of us to continue to restore faith and confidence in USA Gymnastics, and to set and execute a clear vision for a successful future.”

Nassar, who also worked for decades as a sports physician at Michigan State University, pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting numerous athletes under the guise of medical treatment. In January, a Michigan judge sentenced him to more than 175 years in prison, calling Nassar’s choice to assault scores of girls and women, under the pretense that he was treating them, “precise, calculated, manipulative, devious and despicable.”

Rae Sremmurd's Slim Jxmmi has fulfilled his childhood dream: “The coolest thing in the world was throwing a bunch of money in the strip club”

BelaireBrothers Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee of Rae Sremmurd are loving their new roles as ambassadors for Belaire champagne, and in the first episode of the Belaire It Out web series, Slim reveals his lifelong dream was to make it rain, and now he’s done it.

“This man is a legend in like five strip clubs in LA,” Swae says about his brother.

“When I was a young boy in Mississippi, I always thought that the coolest thing in the world was throwing a bunch of money in the strip club,” Slim remembers. “When I blew up, I lived my dream out and I threw blocks of money in the strip club.”

“You gotta put the money back in the economy,” Swae explains.

The brothers have plenty of cash to spend in strip clubs now that they’ve signed a $20 million deal to promote Belaire Gold. In October, Slim and Swae joined the Belaire team of celebrity endorsers, which also includes DJ Khaled, Rick Ross and Dave East.

Missy Elliott says people were surprised by her Songwriters Hall of Fame nomination

Getty Images North America via ABC/Kevork Djansezian/AMA2018Missy Elliott is the first female rapper to be nominated for the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and she says many were surprised to learn she’s written for numerous stars, including Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Destiny’s Child and Aaliyah.

“A lot of people just thought I was an artist,” the five-time Grammy winner tells Billboard.  They’re like, ‘I had no clue.’

Missy hopes that her nomination will lead to other female writers and producers being recognized.

“I hope it opens the door so people will be able to see that they [female songwriters and producers] do exist out there,” she says. I was talking to Queen Latifah the other day, saying it’s so crazy how people don’t know that there was a Patrice Rushen, who did a lot of her own stuff; an Angela Winbush … so many before me that people aren’t aware of.”

“If I [win], I’ll have the biggest party. And if I don’t, I’ll still have a big party because I’m just grateful, and it sparks the conversation for someone that comes after me,” Elliott adds  “There hasn’t been a female MC inducted, and we have to look at that.”

The 47-year-old songwriter/artist/producer hasn’t released an album since The Cookbook in 2005. One reason, she says, is because she’s such a perfectionist, it’s hard for her to release new music.

“I play stuff for my friends when they come over,” Missy says. “Fifty people can tell me, ‘Hey, this is hot.’ But if I don’t feel it then nobody else will ever hear it except for those 50 people at my house,” Missy says. “If I get goosebumps, then I feel like the world will feel that way when they hear it.”

Sean Paul drops “Naked Truth” single & video featuring Jhene Aiko

ABC/Paula LoboSean Paul is back with his new single and video, “Naked Truth,” featuring Jhene Aiko.

“When we wrote the song, I wanted to pinpoint exactly who was the best person to give voice to the female perspective. Jhene hit it right on the head — sensual, emotional, powerful,” the dancehall singer tells Billboard.

“As soon as I heard her demo, I knew she was the one. I love how she sounds and I love how well her perspective matches the song,” Paul added.

Regarding the video, the Grammy winner says, “It really shows the sexual tension between sexes. She is the queen of her world and I’m the king of mine…It’s the age old battle of the sexes represented through dance.”

“Naked Truth” is from Paul’s latest album, Mad Love: The Prequel, which also features Migos and Tory Lanez.
