Dame Dash and Funkmaster Flex embroiled in heated social media feud

Dame Dash and Funkmaster Flex have been letting the less-than-subtle verbal jabs fly on social media.

Apparently, the catalyst for the back-and-forth between the music mogul and veteran radio host revolves around Flex’s relationship with YouTube Music exec Lyor Cohen. Dash has previously been critical of Cohen, frequently referring to him as a “culture vulture.”

Thursday night, Flex addressed Dash’s comments on air, which didn’t sit too well with the former Roc-a-Fella head honcho. Taking to Instagram to address the matter, Dash shared a loaded post in which he questioned Flex’s role in the culture of hip-hop.

“Not sure what’s wrong with this dude @funkflex or why he hates his own culture so much,” Dash began the lengthy tirade. “But I feel sorry for him…his master won’t let him out of that lil room he’s been in for 30 years…and his master won’t even give him a promotion.”

Dash continued, “Need that conversation face to face @funkflex dont be a coward…and we all know #liarcohen @youtubemusic is paying you cause he’s too much of a coward to face me himself…just like they always do… (divide and conquer).”

Flex swiftly responded by comparing net worth to Dash’s on Instagram.

“You up BOSS? Maybe we leave the comments on for this one?” he captioned the screenshot. “You speaking BOSS language still?”

The conversation has since turned into a saga of memes and no real indication that either man is willing to settle their differences.

Los Angeles Dodgers trade Puig, Kemp to Cincinnati Reds

Photo by Allen Kee / ESPN Images(LOS ANGELES) — The Los Angeles Dodgers completed a blockbuster trade on Friday that may give them the financial wherewithal to target high priced free agents like Bryce Harper.

The Dodgers sent pitcher Alex Wood, catcher Kyle Farmer and outfielders Matt Kemp and Yasiel Puig to the Cincinnati Reds on Friday, receiving pitcher Homer Bailey and two prospects in return. The Reds are also expected to send about $7 million in cash.

The deal would save the Dodgers about $15 million in their payroll and luxury tax bill in 2019, potentially allowing them to go after Harper or another free agent target.

Bailey, meanwhile, is expected to be released by the Dodgers.

NBA general managers say LeBron James guilty of 'tampering' with Anthony Davis

Photo by Phil Ellsworth / ESPN Images(NEW YORK) — Multiple NBA general managers have told ESPN that they have privately expressed frustration with what they call “tampering” on the part of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.

James recently told ESPN’s Dave McMenamin that the possibility of the Lakers acquiring New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis would be “amazing” and “incredible.” Several GMs say those comments violate the league’s bylaws.

According to NBA rules, “any player who, directly or indirectly, entices, induces, persuades or attempts to entice, induce or persuade any Player, Coach, Trainer, General Manager, or any other person who is under contract to any other Member of the Association to enter into negotiations for or relating to his services shall, on being charged with such tampering.”

The criticism is furthered by the fact that Davis recently hired James’ agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports to represent him. Davis is under contract through the end of the 2019-2020 season.

The Lakers have been fined twice in the last two years for comments made by members of the front office about Paul George and Giannis Antetokounmpo. The league has not, to this point, punished any players for tampering.

Report: Jeezy's son involved in violent altercation, suffers knife wound to the face

Getty Images/Greg DohertyThe son of rap vet Jeezy is believed to have been involved in a possible homicide, TMZ reports.

Jadarius Jenkins allegedly sustained a “knife wound to the face” during a violent incident that occurred Sunday morning in Georgia. According to a police report obtained by the outlet, officers arrived at the scene after responding to a dispatch call of shots being fired. An unidentified 37-year-old man was allegedly shot and wounded, later dying of his injuries at the hospital.

Jenkins was treated at the scene, but it’s still unclear what transpired beforehand. A source familiar with the situation, however, revealed to TMZ that the 22-year old acted in self-defense and police were reportedly investigating two burglaries that occurred in the same area around the same time as the shooting. The man who was killed may have been involved with those burglaries, but this has yet to be confirmed.

On Wednesday, Jenkins’ attorney, Drew Findling, released a statement regarding his client’s ongoing treatment for his injuries. “We are grateful to law enforcement for releasing Jadarius after their preliminary investigation,” Findling said. “He continues to receive medical treatment for the injury he endured during the incident.”

Jeezy has yet to comment on the matter and hasn’t shared any updates on his social media accounts since Saturday.

Cardinals sign reliever Andrew Miller to two-year deal

Jason Miller/Getty Images(ST. LOUIS) — The St. Louis Cardinals and lefty reliever Andrew Miller have agreed to a two-year contract, according to the team’s official website.

The Cardinals got their big bat when they traded for Paul Goldschmidt, but now they have some much-needed bullpen help.

Miller will be paid $25 million over two years with a chance to earn more in appearance incentives.

Miller joined the league in 2006 with the Detroit Tigers, but didn’t pitch as a reliever until the Red Sox moved him to the bullpen in 2012. The two-time All Star finished top 10 in American League Cy Young voting on two occasions, once with the Yankees and again with the Indians. Miller went on to earn AL Championship Series MVP honors with the Indians in 2016.

The 33-year-old was one of the most sought-after bullpen arms this offseason, despite coming off of a disappointing 2018 campaign. Miller only pitched in 34 innings in 37 appearances, thanks to injuries to his shoulder, hamstring, and knee. He also posted a 4.24 ERA — his highest since becoming a full-time reliever.

The Cardinals are hoping they can make the playoffs this season after narrowly missing out on a Wild Card spot in 2018.
