Ciara remembers her favorite New Year’s Eve with husband Russell Wilson

ABC/Image Group LAFor the second year in a row, Ciara is hosting the Hollywood Party portion of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve this Monday night. As she prepares for the show, Ciara fondly remembers her favorite New Year’s Eve was the first time she brought in the new year with husband Russell Wilson, before they married in 2016.

“It was me, him and our son Future and I just remember that being a very sweet moment in my life,” Ciara tells ABC Radio. “It just kinda symbolized so many different things. It just was a very special time and we all just danced together and it was pretty sweet.”

In addition to hosting, the “Level Up” singer is also performing at the Hollywood Party. Ciara is proud to look back and see how her career has grown from sitting at home enjoying the annual show.

“I think in my mind and reflect on the stages, from watching Dick Clark New Year’s Eve to actually performing on the show and then actually co-hosting on the show and then now co-hosting and performing,” she says.

Ella Mai will be among the artists joining the Grammy winner at The Hollywood Party. Ciara says it will be a special show.

“It’s pretty cool, it’s definitely a lot to look forward to and especially it being my second year, I’m more familiar with the environment,” she says. “It’s just starting to feel, like, really good and comfy and I’m excited about this evening.”

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, featuring Ciara hosting the Hollywood Party, kicks off at 8 p.m. ET Monday on ABC.

Mayfield breaks rookie touchdown record with 27th TD pass

Rob Carr/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — The Browns missed out on the playoffs, but there’s still a silver lining in their 2018 season: quarterback Baker Mayfield.

Mayfield made history during the Browns 26-24 loss at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens, throwing his 27th touchdown pass of the season and setting the NFL rookie record.

Mayfield threw 3 touchdowns during the game, but didn’t break the record until there was 3:24 left on the clock. Rookie wide receiver Antonio Callaway ran a short slant route from the Ravens’ 1-yard line, and Mayfield completed the pass for the score.

It was his third touchdown pass of the day, coming against the NFL’s top-ranked defense.

The touchdown passes also extended Mayfield’s streak of games with a touchdown pass to 13, the fifth longest in Browns history. He also owns the Browns franchise records for passing yards by a rookie.

Tyrod Taylor opened the season as the Browns’ starter, but was forced to leave a Week 3 game against the Jets with a concussion. Mayfield stepped in, completed 17 of 23 passes for 201 yards, and led the Browns to a 21-17 win. It was the Browns’ first win since the 2016 season. Then-head coach Hue Jackson handed Mayfield the reins and the Browns never looked back.

Prince Williams/FilmmagicPleasure P from Pretty Ricky turned 34 years old Thursday, and apparently he celebrated too much: He was reportedly arrested this morning in Miami.

Pleasure left Pretty Ricky in 2007 for a solo career, then returned to the group in 2015. This year, he joined the cast of Love & Hip Hop: Miami.

He and Pretty Ricky are supposed to join the reunited B2K on a 2019 tour that also includes Mario,Ying Yang Twins, Lloyd and Chingy.

The Year in Music 2018: Was it “God's Plan” for Drake to rule the charts?

Republic RecordsDrake has managed to dominate 2018, adversity and all.

Over the course of this year, the self-proclaimed 6 God proved just how powerful “God’s Plan” could be. At the top of 2018, Drizzy dropped off that single, which stayed at number one for 11 weeks on Billboard’s Hot 100, besting “One Dance” from Views. The accompanying video for “God’s Plan” became a viral success, showing the rapper giving away hundreds of thousands of dollars to those less fortunate.

Soon after, Drake gifted fans with “Nice For What,” an unlikely pro-feminism record which continued his hot streak. The visual, once again, proved to be a success with its all-star cast of Hollywood’s leading actresses including Zoe Saldana, Tracee Ellis Ross, Issa Rae and more. His follow-up single “In My Feelings,” which spent a total of 10 weeks at no. 1, spawned a viral dance craze that extended Drizzy’s reign even further.

Drake also spent a big portion of the year tapping into the new wave of chart toppers, by hopping on tracks with the likes of Migos, Lil Baby and BlocBoy JB.   In December, he topped the charts again with his uncredited feature on Travis Scott‘s “Sicko Mode.”

All in all, Drake set a record by spending an incredible 29 weeks at the top of the Hot 100 this year.  That broke the record of 28 weeks set by Usher in 2004.

But Drake’s hot streak couldn’t protect him from his feud with fellow rapper Pusha T. Re-igniting rumors that Drake uses a ghostwriter, King Push taunted Drizzy on the Daytona track “Infrared.” Drake pushed back on “Duppy Freestyle,” taking shots at the Virginia rapper’s checkered past and his G.O.O.D. Music cohort, Kanye West

The escalation of the beef eventually led to “The Story of Adidion,” Pusha’s scathing diss track regarding Drizzy’s “secret” son.  When Drake’s album Scorpion arrived in June, the rapper acknowledged the fact that he was a father in a number of the songs, especially “March 14” and “Emotionless.”  In the latter track, he rapped, “I wasn’t hiding my kid from the world/I was hiding the world from my kid.”

Drake also spoke about his son to his pseudo-father figure LeBron James. During an intimate sit-down with the NBA star on his HBO-backed series The Shop, Drizzy also addressed Pusha T crossing the line, as well as Ye’s seemingly manipulative ways.

Drake’s other accomplishments in 2018 included touring with Migos, warring with Kanye over numerous topics, and scoring seven Grammy nominations.

This is 40: John Legend gets sweet and sexy tribute from wife Chrissy Teigen

Image Group LA/ABCJohn Legend is celebrating his 40th birthday today, which inspired his wife Chrissy Teigen to take to Instagram for a sweet tribute to her man.

Captioning a slideshow of John solo, with her, and with their children, Luna and Miles, Chrissy wrote, “Happy 40th birthday to the most incredible man. The best father, hardest worker, best lover, best friend I could ever imagine. Every day I am grateful for how much you love us and how much you both say it and show it. You are one of a kind.”

“I am grateful to your family for creating and raising such a pure, sweet, brilliant man,” Chrissy gushed. “The world has been blessed by your 40 years on this planet.”

But of course, this is Chrissy Teigen we’re talking about, so she had to end her loving message with this:

“I love you. I showed you that this morning BOOYAHHHH.”

John has had plenty to celebrate all year, from releasing his first Christmas album, to welcoming son Miles, to winning an Emmy — which made him the first black man to be an EGOT.

T-Pain reveals brother’s $1.4 million dollar hospital bill

Hannibal MatthewsT-Pain is grateful that his brother is alive following a two-month hospital stay, but now they have a new challenge with which to contend: a medical bill totaling over $1.4 million.

“I first wanna say thank you to all the ppl that were involved in keeping my brother alive,” the “Buy U a Drank” rapper commented on Instagram, along with a long list of the hospital charges. “I can’t express enough gratitude to the medical staff that kept my family whole. My brother was in two hospitals for a total of a month and some change. Just got the bills.”

The rapper/producer, whose birth name is Faheem Rashad Najm, didn’t reveal his brother’s illness, or any other information.

As T-Pain plans to pay the bill, he’s suing his former management company for $1 million, according to AllHipHop.com. After working with the Chase Entertainment Corporation for nine years, he fired the company in 2014. He claims he recently discovered that Chase Entertainment wasn’t licensed to represent him, and he’s suing them for allegedly illegally taking commissions from him and not providing an accurate accounting of his finances.
