Mary J. Blige is taking over Apple Music.

The singer is discussing her life and career with Apple Music 1’s Nadeska in a new interview ahead of a special concert streaming Wednesday night exclusively on Apple Music.

During the interview, Mary reflects on the 30-year anniversary of her debut album, What’s the 411, and her longevity in the business.

“I am super proud of myself because I did a lot of work to get here… I’m proud of my soul, my spirit, my work ethic, the people that I choose to be around me, the energy that I give to people, I’m proud,” she says. “I’m super proud of how far I came because I come a long way.”

When discussing her co-headlining performance at the Super Bowl halftime show earlier this year with Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Kendrick Lamar, Blige says, “I don’t even have the words to explain how full and how huge of an accomplishment that was. I just felt so strong. And I felt like, first of all, grateful to have been asked, but I definitely felt like I earned that moment.”

Apple Music is paying tribute to MJB all day long with interviews as well as her greatest hits. Then at 7 p.m. PT, a pre-recorded concert will be streamed for fans in over 165 countries. The show was taped July 13 at New York City’s historic United Palace and will feature a career-spanning setlist.

The Weeknd will launch his very own haunted house at Universal Studios

XO Records

Who knew The Weeknd and Halloween would make such a perfect pair?

Entertainment Weekly confirms the “Blinding Lights” singer will bring the thrills and chills to his very own haunted house at Universal Studios. The attraction, which is part of Halloween Horror Nights, pays homage to The Weeknd’s After Hours album.

The Weeknd: After Hours Nightmare will be part of Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort, which means fans from either coast can immerse themselves into the Grammy winner’s twisted imagination.

“I always wanted my own Halloween Horror Nights haunted house, as Halloween has always been significant to my music, so this is a total dream come to life,” he said in a statement. “I feel like my music videos have served as a launching pad for a collaboration like this, and I cannot wait for people to experience this madness!”

This single-house experience transports thrill seekers into the After Hours fantasy world and is soundtracked to the songs “After Hours,” “In Your Eyes,” “Heartless,” “Blinding Lights,” “Save Your Tears” and “Too Late.”

Halloween Horror Nights executive producer John Murdy teased the first part of the experience, called the “Nightmare Extraction,” which includes an articulated, life-like version of The Weeknd strapped to a machine reminiscent of A Clockwork Orange

Something goes wrong with the machine meant to suck out The Weeknd’s nightmares, leaving the audience to “face all of those things and dark places he went to in creating the album,” says Murdy.

Thrill seekers will also encounter “a horrific toad creature unlike anything you’ve ever seen before,” he added.  There will also be moments that will “make you think you’re getting hit in the face with blood.”

The attraction opens September 2 in Orlando and September 8 in Hollywood.

Usher to executive produce 'Storyville', a series about the birth of jazz

Marcus Ingram/Getty Images

Usher has signed on to executive produce Storyville, a series that explores the roots of the Jazz Age.

Variety reports the upcoming show follows a group of five brothel madams fighting for control of New Orleans’ red light district. Usher will work alongside show creators Bill Macdonald and Walt Becker.

Storyville is an epic tale sparked by the origins of the sound that inspired my career,” the eight-time Grammy winner said in a statement, “a story that touches the nerve of social and cultural relevance today.”

The show marks Usher’s first time serving as an executive producer of a drama series. The “OMG” singer previously served as EP for Quibi’s series short The Sauce in addition to the 2005 movie In The Mix.

Storyville is being developed by Starlings Television and company president-slash-EP Chris Philip said of the forthcoming series, “Usher’s massive global appeal, musical and acting genius will propel this unique and compelling original series into must-see viewing worldwide.”

“His invaluable creative and musical contributions to Storyville fulfill our vision of contrasting the gritty, sometimes brutal sides of New Orleans life with it giving birth to a beautiful, diverse and defining new artform,” the statement continued.

It is unknown what network will air the forthcoming series, as it is currently being shopped to broadcasters.

Storyville was New Orleans’ red light district, which ran between 1897 and 1917. It is believed to be the birthplace of jazz music.

See Kevin Hart make the most of his 'Me Time' with Mark Wahlberg in new Netflix comedy

Netflix/Saeed Adyani

Kevin Hart plays a devoted stay-at-home dad who gets a week away from the kids, thanks to his wife (Regina Hall), in the trailer to the new Netflix comedy Me Time.

The free week comes at the perfect time, when his over-the-top childhood friend, played by Mark Wahlberg, decides to go all out to celebrate his 44th birthday.

The birthday boy is quick to take the fish out of the water: He’s shown taking a hesitant Hart to a nude beach, camping in the desert — in which Hart’s character gets tackled by a mama mountain lion — and going wing-suit diving, the latter mostly accidentally.

The comedy hits Netflix on August 26.
