Courtesy NetflixNetflix has released the first teaser to the upcoming film adaptation of Kenny Leon’s critically acclaimed Broadway play American Son.
Like the play, the film examines race relations in America, and follows a recently separated interracial couple in a desperate search for their 16-year-old son in South Florida. Kerry Washington, Steven Pasquale, Jeremy Jordan and Eugene Lee, who all starred in the play, reprise their roles in the upcoming film.
“The world still looks at him like it looks at me,” says Washington, who plays the missing boy’s mother, in the promo.
