Mets slugger Pete Alonso agrees to five-year, $155M contract with Orioles

Former Mets slugger and free-agent first baseman Pete Alonso has agreed to a 5-year, $155 million contract with the Baltimore Orioles. ESPN’s Jeff Passan was first to report: “BREAKING: First baseman Pete Alonso and the Baltimore Orioles are finalizing a five-year, $155 million contract, sources tell ESPN. Alonso leaves the Mets to make a loaded AL East even better.” Alonso, 31, opted out of his contract with the Mets following the World Series, becoming a free agent for the second straight offseason.The move comes a day after the Mets lost Edwin Díaz to the Dodgers on a three-year deal
