ABC/Randy HolmesLil Wayne will be recognized with a special honor at the 2018 BET Hip-Hop Awards.
Weezy will receive the I Am Hip-Hop Award at the event, held October 6 in Miami. The legendary rapper from New Orleans has won five Grammy Awards and sold over 100 million records. He also launched the career of several stars, including Drake and Nicki Minaj, on his Young Money Entertainment label. His long awaited Tha Carter V album is scheduled to be released Friday.
Drake dominates the 2018 BET Hip-Hop Awards nominations with 11 nods. Cardi B follows him with ten nominations.
