BETThe Queen Bee will reign at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards as Lil Kim will be honored with the “I Am Hip Hop” award.
Kim was discovered by The Notorious B.I.G. and began her career as a member of his group, Junior M.A.F.I.A. She is a three time MTV-VMA winner, and won a Grammy in 2002 along with Christina Aguilera, Pink and Mya for their remake of Labelle’s “Lady Marmalade.”
Her hits include “Get Money” with Junior M.A.F.I.A., “No Time” featuring Puff Daddy, “Not Tonight” featuring Da Brat, Left Eye, Missy Elliott and Angie Martinez and “Magic Stick,” featuring 50 Cent.
