Kurtis Blow taking the gospel to Rikers Island prison

Courtesy of New Jersey Performing Arts Center Hip-hop legend Kurtis Blow has been an ordained Christian minister since 2009, and today he’s hosting a special gospel service at New York City’s largest prison.

“We’re going to Rikers Island to do an event,” Kurtis tells ABC Audio. “It’s a program for the inmates. About 200, 250 inmates and we’ll be just bringing the gospel to them.”
