Janelle Monáe says her “Dirty Computer” Grammy nod shows that her peers recognize “marginalized voices”

The multifaceted artist’s latest effort, Dirty Computer, appears on numerous year-end “best of 2018” lists, and now it’s earned her a career milestone: a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year.  Monáe says the project’s success is due to the fact that it speaks for people whose voices aren’t often heard.
