Donald Glover says fear of “getting cancelled” is making television and film “boring”

Donald Glover sparked a Twitter debate Tuesday after calling out the current state of television and film.

In a series of tweets early Tuesday morning, the multi-hyphenate star shared his thoughts about cancel culture.

“Saw people on here having a discussion about how tired they were of reviewing boring stuff (tv & film),” he tweeted. “We’re getting boring stuff and not even experimental mistakes (?) because people are afraid of getting cancelled.”

In another tweet, he continued, “So they feel like they can only experiment with aesthetic. (Also because some of em know they’re not that good).”
