Cleveland Browns coach defends quarterback Baker Mayfield's comments about former head coach

artisteer/iStock/Thinkstock(CLEVELAND) — Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens stood up for his quarterback on Thursday, defending Baker Mayfield’s comments about former Browns head coach Hue Jackson.

“I promise you this,” Kitchens told reporters on Thursday, “Baker’s not going to blow smoke up anybody’s .”

“So if he said it, that’s what he feels,” Kitchens continued. “And I’m standing behind Baker Mayfield.”

Earlier in the week, the Browns rookie quarterback took issue with Jackson accepting a job with the division rival Cincinnati Bengals so soon after he was fired in Cleveland. He also posted an Instagram response calling the former head coach
