Following the incident during the Harper’s Bazaar New York Fashion Week party where Cardi allegedly threw a shoe at Nicki, the Queen rapper accused Cardi or her team of playing radio stations to play her music, a practice known as “payola.” Specifically, on her Beats One show, Nicki said Cardi “built her career off of sympathy and payola.”
