Although the top nominees of the night included artists like Bruno Mars, H.E.R., SZA and Cardi B, the night ended up being a throwback to 90s music.
The show included appearances and performance from Michael Bivins, Ricky Bell and Ronnie DeVoe of Bel Biv DeVoe, Jon B., Donell Jones, and Carl Thomas. Fans were later surprised by an appearance by Kid ‘n Play
