Ava DuVernay explains the “upside” to being snubbed by Golden Globes; slams Megyn Kelly for calling out Colin Kaepernick

ABC/Paula Lobo Ava DuVernay is taking her Golden Globes snub in stride.

Although her limited Netflix series, When They See Us, on the Exonerated Five was passed over for a Golden Globes nomination, the director decided to thank The Hollywood Foreign Press for the overlook.

“Upside of not being nominated for Golden Globe for WHEN THEY SEE US: I don’t have to juggle getting into hair, makeup + gown while researching, reading and worrying about impeding war,” she tweeted sharing a gif of her politely clapping at an award show. “Also: easier to block trolls without newly manicured nails.
