On Dec. 7, the dancehall sensation was released from a state prison after serving a seven-year jail stint related to firearm and drug charges. Upon his release from Georgia’s McRae Correctional Facility, Buju returned to his native Jamaica and an outpouring of support from his beloved fans.
Among the many celebrating Buju’s return was Diddy, who shared his thoughts on the reggae icon’s newfound freedom via social media. “Today is a glorious day,” the Bad Boy CEO wrote in an Instagram post. “Buju is free. Let’s go! King s**t. True greatness.”
