Marsha Ambrosius says 2015 Floetry reunion failed due to “toxic situation”

Dez BillupsMarsha Ambrosius is currently enjoying her solo career, but she’s also looking back at her career as a member of Floetry, and explaining why their 2015 reunion failed.

Ambrosius formed Floetry in London in 1999 with Natalie Stewart. Marsha was “The Songstress,” and Natalie was “The Floacist.” Their rare combination of Marsha’s classical vocal training and Natalie’s hip-hop rhymes made them a unique duo.

Floetry released two studio albums and one live album and received five Grammy nominations, including Best Contemporary R&B Album for their 2002 debut album, Floetic. The duo broke up in 2006, reunited for a tour in 2015, but broke up again at
