Former Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn announced Monday that he is stepping away from coaching after a 35-year career. Malzahn, 60, spent the 2025 season as Florida State’s offensive coordinator and said the decision was driven by a desire to focus on family and life beyond football. Malzahn said, “After 35 years, it’s time for me to step away from coaching I am excited to spend more time with my family and focus on the next chapter of my life.
