Lawsuit against Mariah Carey over canceled shows dismissed

ABC/Heidi GutmanA New York federal judge has dismissed several legal claims against Mariah Carey involving canceled concerts, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

In January of 2017, Mariah sued a South American promoter, saying because they didn’t pay her in timely manner, she had the legal right to cancel her shows in Argentina and Chile and still be paid in full.  The promoter countersued for breach of contract, saying Carey couldn’t terminate their deal without giving them 48 hours’ notice. They also sued for defamation, claiming she’d defamed them on Twitter by complaining about situation.
