Nicki Minaj's husband Kenneth Petty sentenced to probation and in-home detention

Nicki Minaj‘s husband Kenneth Petty was sentenced in Los Angeles on Wednesday after failing to register as a sex offender. 

Petty, 44, was sentenced to three years of probation and one year of in-home detention for the offense, according to MyNewsLA.com. He was also ordered to pay a $55,000 fine.

The sentencing comes a year after Petty pleaded guilty to the federal charge of failure to register. 

Petty was convicted in 1995 of attempted rape for an incident that occurred the year before with a 16-year-old girl in New York. He served over four years in prison for the offense and
