King Shady: Eminem’s “Kamikaze” becomes his ninth number-one album

Aftermath/Shady Records/Interscope RecordsEminem is ruling the Billboard 200 chart once again as Kamikaze debuts at number one.

Slim Shady’s surprise release earned 434,000 units for the week ending September 6 to become his ninth album to top the chart. His previous album, last year’s Revival, sold 267,000 units in its first week.

Kamikaze had the fourth-highest debut of the year so far, following Drake’s Scorpion with 732,000 units; Travis Scott’s Astroworld, which earned 537,000 units; and Post Malone’s beerbongs & bentleys, with 461,000 units.

Following last week’s release of his “Fall” video, Eminem announced Monday on Instagram that the video for the Kamikaze single “Lucky You,” featuring Joyner Lucas, will be released Wednesday at 1:00 pm ET.
