Usher explains why 50 Cent's “In Da Club” was playing during the birth of his new baby

50 Cent performed his 2003 hit “In Da Club” during the Super Bowl halftime show, and the song also was playing when Usher and his girlfriend, Jenn Goicoechea, welcomed his fourth child, Sire, who was born September 29, 2021.

The eight-time Grammy winner revealed the news via a video posted on Instagram around the time of Sire’s birth, and in a new interview with Extra, he explained why he chose that song.

“It was befitting of the moment…I felt like I wanted to have a little humor and also energy in the moment,” Usher said. “There were many songs played throughout the entire process
