H.E.R. to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Marvin Gaye's classic “What's Going On” during the People's Choice Awards

For the 50th anniversary of “What’s Going On,” H.E.R. will perform the Marvin Gaye classic Tuesday on the People’s Choice Awards. The iconic title track of the Motown legend’s 1971 album has sold over two million copies, and remains famous five decades later as the anthem for the social unrest of the 70s.

Presenters during the show will include Cardi B, Tracee Ellis Ross, Leslie Jones, Lil Rel Howery, Mike Epps, Paris Jackson, and Wanda Sykes. As previously announced, Halle Berry will receive “The People’s Icon” Award.

Kenan Thompson will host the 2021 People’s Choice Awards which will air simultaneously on both NBC and E! on Tuesday, December 7 at 9
