Boris Kodjoe to make directorial debut; Duane Martin signs deal with Jada Pinkett Smith; & more

Boris Kodjoe will direct his wife, Nicole Ari Parker, in the upcoming Lifetime thriller Safe Space, Deadline has learned. This will be the directorial debut for Kodjoe, who will also star in the film.

The original feature, which is slated to release in 2022, follows Parker as a recently widowed mother with a her 14-year-old autistic son, who accidentally witnesses a break-in in the neighborhood and records it. When the intruders find out about the tape, they “will stop at nothing to retrieve the video evidence of the crime and silence them.” The film also stars Drea de Matteo, Nik Sanchez, and Mackenzie Astin.
