Tory Lanez talks Caribbean roots and reggae capsule album

The Loner rapper and singer discloses that his Dutch mother is from Curaçao, and his dad is from Barbados, while the rest of his family is Guyanese. 

“I’ve always been island-oriented,” says Lanez. “What a lot of people don’t know is my grandfather is Garfield Sobers. He’s one of the best cricket players in the world. I come from a long line of greatness that stems from the islands.”

“I’ve always wanted to make sure that, no matter what I do, I’m paying certain respects to my ancestors and ancestry,”
