Whoopi Goldberg, Zendaya, Michaela Coel & more to be honored at Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards

ABC/Heidi GutmanWhoopi Goldberg, Cynthia Erivo, Zendaya, Michaela Coel and Andra Day will be honored at the 14th annual Essence Black Women In Hollywood Awards.

Hosted by Laverne Cox, the star-studded event will take place on Thursday, April 22, and be streamed live as a virtual experience from 7 to 10 p.m. ET on both ESSENCEStudios.com and ESSENCE.com. The theme for this year awards is “Mastering Our Stories,” which centers on the resiliency of Black women in Hollywood through the years, including during the pandemic.

Following the awards on April 22, Essence will host its second annual Hollywood House on Friday, April 23rd. Hosted by actress A Wrinkle in Time actress Storm Reid,
