T.I. comments about annual hymen exams for his daughter sparks legislation to ban virginity tests

ABC/Randy Holmes T.I.’s controversial remarks about annual “hymen tests” for his daughter Deyjah not only sparked social media outrage, it has also led to proposed legislation in New York state to ban virginity tests.

“It made me angry and I was just very upset,” Assemblywoman Michaelle C. Solages, who introduced a bill last week to prohibit the practice, tells the New York Times. “To use your platform to say that you did this is just misogynistic and it sets the women’s movement back.”
