“Benjamin”: Akon's warning for women who worship money

Cat HarperAfter eleven years without a new album, Akon is making a comeback with three records. His new Latin album El Negreeto dropped October 4 and his Afrobeat project, Akonda, arrives Friday. The “I Wanna Love You” singer will also drop a R&B/hip hop album, Konnect, on November 22, and he’s especially proud of that record’s lead single.

The 46-year-old singer says the song, “Benjamin,’ is a sign of the times song about women who worship money, including C-notes bearing the face of Benjamin Franklin.
