Khalid on being shut out at the Grammys: “I learned how to take myself less seriously”

ABC/Randy HolmesVoting for the Grammy nominations is now underway, and Khalid, who was up for five awards earlier this year, is expected to again be one of the top nominees. As he looks back at being shut out this year, the 21-year-old singer is actually grateful he was not a winner. 

“I learned how to take myself less seriously after the Grammys,” he tells Rolling Stone. 

The “Young Dumb & Broke” singer says not hearing his name called at the ceremony was a blessing in disguise because it inspired him to be even more creative.
