OWN announced on Thursday that its hit drama Queen Sugar has been renewed. The network also announced that season four showrunner Anthony Sparks will continue on as showrunner for the fifth; the first time that the series has kept a showrunner for a consecutive season.
“I’m thrilled to further explore the beauty, pain and triumph of this African-American family, with hopes that their story will continue to resonate with audiences who see themselves in the Bordelons,” said series creator Ava DuVernay.
